3 HIL Simulation Experiment Designer Plug-in for Eclipse:  A designer which is capable of defining the layout of an HIL experiment screen. User can drag/drop measurement indicators, curves, plots and bind to model parameters. The output generated within this designer can be executed in Eclipse. (HIL=Hardware in the loop). 5 Telecommunication Network Design A telecommunications network contains a management node, a number of satellite nodes and a large number of end user nodes connected to the satellite nodes.  The communication may be between any two end users (telephony), between the management node and one end user (Internet download) and a combination of the two (telephony over Internet).  In all cases the signalling is between the end user and the management node. Given the geographical distribution of the end users (numbers ranging from six to seven digits), the geographical location of the management node, the cost (one time and monthly) of connecting the end users to satellite nodes and the satellite nodes to each other and to the management node as a function of their location and of the number of end users connected over a particular link, design a network such that: 1.    the vulnerability (requires definition) of the network is minimized;
2.    the annual cost of the network is minimized;
3.    the network will be reconfigurable (with quantized cost levels) to allow the addition of new end users without losing its optimality.

Integrate the program developed into a customer acquisition and connection program.'

6 Air Travel Planning This project will implement search algorithms for air travel planning.  Given flight schedules, minimum connection times, fare rules (e.g. Saturday night stays, advanced booking), seat availability and user preferences, listing of  feasible flights (sorted according to various criteria such as prices, number of connections, length of travel etc.)   will be performed after the search.  Air travel search involves difficult combinatorial optimization problems ;some problem formulations are NP-hard, some can be even undecidable. 7 Process Based Resource Planning and Project Management Software (ProBReP)  Organizations are hardly managing their resources in a highly competitive global business world. They work on various methodologies to make efficient use of their human resources, equipments, partners and consultants. In order to make a significant outcome, we propose a comprehensive resource management software solution for the solution of  these problems. The solution will be based on process management  perspective for resource planning and project management issues. It will handle many different attributes of resources under intelligent matchmaking algorithms, analytics for existing projects and evaluation of  their execution, and predictions for prospective multinational and multilevel projects to be feasible and  manageable under various constraints. Details will be provided with a requirement analysis document at the kick-off. We would prefer to have development in Microsoft .NET Environment and Microsoft SQL as database for this web based project, but we are open to discussion.  Ericsson  
8 Customer Driven Dynamic Pricing Platform (CuPri)  E-commerce, as preferred by many internet users, is growing each day. Because of the market share growth and the opportunities that it embraces, many new companies are involved to this game to be part  of it. Despite the increasing number of companies, the style of services doesn't fundamentally change. A  common methodology used is to  provide a service or product (which is bought with advantages of cumulative numbers) with lowest possible price. This model is an application of conventional commerce on internet. Social media, blogs and analogical comparison web sites help consumers to find cheaper prices for any product. Customers nowadays have advantage of buying a product / service via internet without even getting out of their houses. But this is a one way process which means retailers share  their prices and the consumers prefer it or not. Besides providing the best price, e-commerce doesn't serve the products / services that customer exactly wants. A new contrary platform that; - collects specific product request, - specify its price, - uses the advantages of the mass demand, - helps companies understand what customers really want, - controls the total request and price balance - analysis requests and price correlation, - sends sms / email at different steps of the process, is required. Thus, will be the project idea that we will be working on. We would prefer to have development in Microsoft .NET Environment and Microsoft SQL as database for this web based project, but we are open to discussion.  Ericsson  
9 Personal Finance Management and Simulation Software (PerFiMaSi)  In daily life, keeping personal financials regularly and making future analysis out of transactions needs discipline and computer skills. In order to make individuals life easier, without a certain skill requirement, we propose personal finance management and simulation software. The solution will be based on monthly transactions with predefined categories, comparing with predefined monthly budgets to indicate balance condition over timeline. To analyze the impact of possible future transactions the solution will provide simulation module as well. Details will be provided with a requirement analysis document at  the kick-off. 11 Windows Mobile ile Push Optimizasyonu Mobil Cihazlara mesajların Push Tekniği ile iletilmesini sağlayan bir uygulamanın geliştirilmesi istenmektedir. Uygulama Mobil Cihaz bağımsız fakat işletim sistemi bağımlı (Windows Mobile) olmalıdır. MS.NET Platformunda geliştirme yapılması tercih edilmektedir. Cihazın gücünü minimum düzeyde kullanan, minimum veri trafiği yaratan, sunucudaki değişiklikleri doğru yere hızlı bir şekilde yansıtan, aradaki iletişim sorunlarından etkilenmeyen C# ile geliştirilmiş birkütüphane hazırlanması istenmektedir.  KocSistem  
12 Konteyner Yükleme Optimizasyonu Konteynerlere çeşitli ölçülerde kasaların optimum alan kullanılacak şekilde yüklenilmesi algoritmasının ve bu algoritmanın uygulandığı görsel arayüz uygulamasının geliştirilmesi istenmektedir. MS.NET Platformunda geliştirme yapılması tercih edilmektedir. Konteyner Yükleme Optimizasyonu genel geçer bir problem olduğu için daha fazla bilgi literatür taraması ile elde edilebilecektir.  KocSistem  
13 Harita  Bileşeni WinForms tabanlı olarak kullanılacak bir harita bileşeni/uygulaması geliştirilmesi istenmektedir. MS.NET Platformunda geliştirme yapılması tercih edilmektedir. Uygulama Harita (input) olarak SVG uzantılı dosya (vektörel olması için) kullanacaktır. Haritanın çizdirilme performansının yüksek olması istenmektedir  (Performans kriteri daha sonra iletilecektir) Haritanın üzerine kullanıcının belirlediği türde (kapı, bina, kamera, sensor vb...) elemanlar, verdiği koordinatlara eklenebilecektir. Haritaya eklenen elemanlar bir veritabanında saklanacaktır. Harita zoom in/out desteklemelidir. Zoom esnasında doğru ölçekleme yapılarak nesneler doğru yerlerine konumlandırılmalıdır. Alternatif olarak; yukarıda bahsedilen özellikleri kapsayan Windows tabanlı mevcut uygulamalar var ise yukarıdaki isteklere uyacak olanların bunların incelenmesi ve sonuçlarının isterleri karşıladığı ispat edilmesi de çalışılabilir.

20 A Heat Map application A Heat Map application that shows coverage maps of multiple access points laid out on a floor plan. The application allows the user to input a floor plan and wall information to generate a floor map. Then the user inputs AP locations on the floor map. 22 Automated Testing Tool Automated performance test package that performs wireless tests to established values for packet error rate, average throughput etc. using iPerf, or another software such as the Ruckus evaluation tool. AirTies  
23 STB video processing Generate filter model equations for Broadcom hardware filtering routines. Implement an optimization scheme setting the parameters for the resizing, deblocking and noise removal hardware that results in the best looking video. 27 An XML based Configuration Editor for AirTies gateway devices The editor takes an AirTies gateway configuration as input and allow a user to manipulate configuration according to a set of rules and reload to the gateway.    
28 A Diagnostic Web Tool python spider which scans the WWW  to gather statistics (using ffprobe) about types of web content (H.264, TS, AAC etc). Generate PDF report showing distribution figures, and database detailing sites scanned. AirTies
